In its second year, the South Florida Jazz Summit shined its light on Fort Lauderdale in glowing colors.
The concert on Saturday, January 14, featuring Maria Rivas and Bobby Ramirez was exhilarating!
The all-day event and art exhibit on Saturday, January 15, brought together in one place representatives of several entities that continue to promote jazz music in South Florida to the fullest.
Seeing Ed Bell, Tracy Fields and Ted Grossman from WLRN, Mel Lipton from WDNA, and representatives of Dillard High School Jazz Band and Gold Coast Jazz Society at the fabulous Bienes Center of St. Thomas Aquinas High School was so encouraging to me as the founder of Women in Jazz South Florida, Inc.
Our presentation of Amazing Musicwomen was well received and we definitely look forward to a repeat performance in 2013!
Bobby Ramirez and James Chism, I salute you and your volunteers for keeping Jazz alive and well in South Florida. You can always count on our support.
