Jazzonian workshop for Miami Edison Sr High School Band Inspires the next generation of Jazz musicians!
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9th, 2012 - Founder/President of Jazzonian Bobby Ramirez spoke to Miami Edison Sr High School band about Jazz history, becoming successful as a musician, and leadership. Empowering the next generation of Jazz musicians.
A $300 donation was awarded to the Miami Edison Sr High School Red Raiders music band program to help with instrument repairs.
A very special award was presented to band member, saxophonist Loukrisha Louissaint in appreciation and gratitude in recognition for exceptional leadership and community service.
"It is because of Loukrisha that I am here. Jazzonian is very happy to support, empower and inspire kids in the community to become leaders and realize his/her full potential", said Bobby Ramirez, Founder and President of Jazzonian. "Jazz has the potential to inspire anyone! One person can make a difference! One person can set things in motion and INSPIRE many! This is what Loukrisha did. She is an exceptional leader."
Loukrisha Louissaint "I was blessed to not only have Mr. Bobby Ramirez, the founder and president of JAZZONIAN to not only come through to help the Miami Edison Sr. High School Red Raiders marching band financially in a major way through fundraising; but a special surprise presentation at Miami Edison Sr. High School. It was honestly amazing and incredible because he rendered a jazz performance with the sounds you would hear from the legends. He would blow the saxophone and the notes flowed either deep and warm like a blanket covering you or bring you to a time you would imagine yourself in the '40s of the Harlem Renaissance doing whatever hip dance of that moment. I enjoyed it and it don't escape me the many more wonderful jazz materials I can be exposed to on JAZZONIAN!!"
