South Florida based Jazzonian Heritage Band is composed of professional area musicians featuring a classic Jazz repertoire highlighting the Golden Age of Jazz; featuring Swing, Bebop, Blues, and beyond. Proceeds from performances benefit Jazzonian, a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization.
The band can be a small duo, trio, quartet, or larger ensemble. Basic instrumentation is piano, bass guitar, drums, saxophone and vocalist. Other instruments can be added including percussion, and horns.
Jazzonian Heritage Band is only available as part of community events that are open to the public at-large with an educational component throughout South Florida, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Miami Beach, Weston, Davie, Cooper City, Hialeah, Jupiter, as well as Naples, Tampa Bay, Sarasota, Orlando, Vero Beach, Jacksonville, Key West, Central and North Florida, as well as at cities and destinatins throughout the United States and North America.
All performances also feature the Jazzonian multimedia traveling exhibit called The Wonderful World of Jazz--featuring exclusive photographs and artifacts from the Jazzonian Historical Preservation Archive collection, as well as classic visual representations of some of the most renowned innovators of Jazz--including Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Frank Sinatra, Charlie Parker, Mario Bauza, and others.
Jazzonian Heritage Band can custom-design a musical program that celebrates the music of a specific era of Jazz--including early Dixieland and Ragtime, Golden Age of Jazz, Big Band era and Latin Jazz Fusion.
Jazzonian Heritage Band presents Jazz tributes to the music of legendary masters--including Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Kenton, Miles Davis, Tito Puente, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Bassie, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and many others.
When it comes to Jazz education, Jazzonian Heritage Band plays an important role as part of Jazzonian community outreach cultural arts initiatives in South Florida--performing as part of educational Jazz workshops, lecture series, festivals and special concerts for children and adults. Special musical interactive educational programs can be custom-designed for early child development, teens, as well as adult audiences.
